night shift

well I've been up with sonny boy now since 1 am because my better half has to go into the office early today. I'm pooped. Our wonderful twice a week for 6 hours nurse is away with her kids this week. I do miss her. Had to take sonnyboy to the Er at SBUH today via ambulance with ALS to see ENT so they could scope his trach . All is well. The silicone trach has it over the PVC variety even if it doesn't have an inner canula. We don't have to go back for two months. That's good because it takes that much time to plan the trip. Not really,though the ambulance guy is convinced I could easily plan out the overthrow of a small country with my current level of organisational skiills. Look out Canada.Why am I blogging? It's quieter than turning pages and sonnyboy is trying to get to sleep. Gee, he's been up for 36 hours now poor dear. It's almost time for his next set of meds so I guess I'd better figure out how to post this darn thing again. Is there a way to spellchck these things?

I am taking care of my adult son at home on a ventilator. He is DNR. They gave him 6 months to live 18 months ago. There is a sticker on the front of the ventilator that says

Rented From
CONTINUED CARE
when no longer needed
call us at
and a phone number

my friends have found this sticker to be somewhere between cruel and crude
(as long as my son is alive he will need this machine)

The question is ... Do I have the right or the responsibility to cover this sticker up with another sticker?
